California Supreme Court overturns gay marriage ban

1. Overturning a ban does not legalize or legitimize homosexual relationships
2. How can the court put an opinion on this unless the wording in the law was in conflict with something else, and if then why was it not stopped before it went to the vote of the people?
3. How on earth can the court overturn the will of the people? Is there some statute that says California legislative bodies, administrative bodies or the people can be overturned by the ruling on a court?
4. Shame on the author of this article writing in such a way as to imply that this ruling legalizes relationships of this nature.
On a similar tought, why is it that there is no discussion on partnerships beyond traditional man & wife or homosexual relationships? I am not advocating or expressing any opinion on this but if the discussion is going to happen and the camel has his nose under the tent, shouldn;'t we look at the bigger picture?
